NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.)
NAFED is registered under the Multi State Co-operative Societies Act. NAFED was setup with the object to promote Co-operative marketing of agricultural produce to benefit the farmers. Agricultural farmers are the main members of NAFED. The Company is a registered miller of NAFED.
National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) is registered under the Multi State Co-operative Societies Act. NAFED was setup with the object to promote Co-operative marketing of agricultural produce to benefit the farmers. Agricultural farmers are the main members of NAFED. The Company is a registered miller of NAFED.In order to help the farmers in getting remunerative prices for their produce with a view to encourage higher investment and also to increase production, Government of India declares Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 25 notified agricultural commodities for each Kharif and Rabi crop season. NAFED is one of the Central Nodal Agencies. Apart from providing support to the farmers by way of implementing various schemes of Central Government/ State Governments such as PSS, PSF, MIS etc., NAFED also procures various agricultural commodities directly from farmers at mandi level through cooperative network in its outright/commercial account and also supply through tender system under various govt. schemes.
Tender System
The lowest bidder can get the tender. When company’s bid is accepted, company get details of place of supply / canters where it needs to deliver goods. As per NAFED Agreement, after supply such goods to respective canters company submit documents to NAFED and they issued increased quantity of same product as finalized on the basis of tender.
The successful bidder, within 7 (Seven) working days from the date of acceptance of its offer, shall furnish to NAFED a Security Deposit of 10% of bid value. Company locally purchases goods from place of supply on one month credit. As soon as supply is made, company gets same products from NAFED from their specified godown. Company enters in contract with local brokers and supplies the products on advance receipt basis.
NACOF Operatives
National Federation of Farmers’ Procurement, Processing and Retailing Cooperatives of India Ltd, (NACOF) has been established under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act 2002 and registered on 4th November 2009 by the Joint Secretary & Central Registrar, Cooperative Societies in the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India at Registration No. MSCS/CR/320/2009.
The Company is a registered miller/ Supplier under NACOF. The NACOF, being a Multi-State Cooperative Federation could establish branches or place of business anywhere in the country in accordance with Section 119 of the MSCS Act 2002. The commercial operations of the NACOF are undertaken on all India level through its Head Office in New Delhi and Branches / Sub-Branches / Warehouses functioning in the State Capitals and other important cities / procuring centres.
